Getting ready to stuff a cam in my 360, results were pretty interesting, you can tell the low compression is really holding the motor back. If you guys need something run in DD2k let me know, I'll try to get back with you asap.

Glad I could help a little bit, like I said before if anyone wants me to run their combo, just give me the info I posted for the block and some cam specs and I'll get back to ya.

Forgot to add....you should strap this motor on a real dyno when you're finished MC and compare the results with the above #'s. I think we'd all be interested to see how far off the two are or if it's pretty much on the money.

Nice numbers fuzz

Iluv2xlr8 I pretty much figured it would be around there, With roller rockers and a larger carb we were hoping to hit 430-460 but maybe I will have time to get this one on the dyno

having over 400 ft/lbs torque from 2000 to 4500 will definately lay you back in the seat when you put the pedal down. Is this going into a FSJ?

The flow #'s I got were from the AMCforum.net, one of the members heisted a flowbench and ran a bunch of heads for AMC's and posted the results for stock and modified heads. Those are some wicked numbers you got Fuzz401!! :t:

XLR8,
I sent you an email (if it worked). Could you run a couple combos for me?
All factors the same as jeepsr4ever's 401, but with the Crane 260-2 (which you used in your 360 example) and the Crower 276 HDP. Thanks. Let me know if you need any more info.

Tim was kind enough to run some ##s for me, so I thought I'd post them for others to see.

401 w/ stock bore and heads, 9.5:1 comp, air gap dual
plane intake, 650 cfm TBI, and small tube headers. I'd like to run the Crane 260-2 cam (456/484 lift, 204/216 duration, 112 LCA) and the Crower 276HDP (464/488 lift, 212/220 duration, 112 LCA).

Due to the above I'll be going with the Crane 260 which I think will be a great setup for the daily driving, rock crawling, and weekend fooling around that I'll be using the jeep for. 450+ lbsft from 2K through 4K should be fun.

Thanks Tim.

Dusty

Likewise A thank you goes out to Tim for running my numbers also

401 .30 over
Howards Cam #310021
.479/.479/lift
222/222 duration@.50
114 lobe seperation

9.8:1 Comp
Dual Plane Intake: R4B
770 Carb
Small tube headers
090 heads stockers @58cc

He guessed and ran the numbers based on a 109 intake centerline, the cam is ground straight up at 114, an i am thinking of trying to advance it 4 or 6 degrees. so 109 he hit it right in the middle of what i was thinking.

4500 398 465
5000 376 395
5500 366 350

Sounds healthy, we will see what the real world numbers are, hopefully i get the thing on a dyno before i put her back in the jeep. I'm eager to wee how she idles too

Nice numbers! I got one close to that I am putting together

Found these Flow numbers on Edelbrock aluminium AMC heads here in the Archived thread about Edelbrock pricing way back

lift intake ex
100 65 52
200 130 96
300 192 127
400 235 163
500 258 182
600 260 190

Bore 4.195 (.030 over)
Stroke 3.68
Increases Compression ratio witht he Speed pro forged pistons from 9.8:1 with 58cc heads to 10.20:1 with Edel 54cc

Wondering how those flow numbers compare to stock AMC heads or if these numbers are truely an accurate representation of the flow of the Edel heads. Wonder how much the EFI will change the numbers along with the Heads

I'll have a rear wheel dyno sheet for you to compare to in january sometime I hope, its only been 6 months of planning

Low comp or not, that Summit 8600 cam really wakes up when you put a 750 on top instead of the 600.
