Was in court...alot of dwi's

1. case 1 older gentleman who got his 2nd offense in 15yrs. Was out with his wife and they had too many drinks. Fine 900 85 days in jail 80 stayed. 2yr probation

2. case 2 older gentleman who got his 1st offense. It was St. patricks day and he got drunk .19 BAL got A $400 DOLLAR FINE AND NO JAIL TIME!

3. case 3 older gentleman who failed to get into the passing lane when a officer had someone pulled over (i didnt even know it was a law) He claimed he wasnt able to move to the other lane because of the snow on the road..pleaded innocent.

4. case 4 State of Minnesota versus MC. Failure to park jeep in fenced in area. First the District attourney said on feb 3rd did you own vehicle with expired registration near the road? I said thats not entirely accurate, the vehicle did have expired tabs and was not near the road. Judge said what is ordinance 700.12? Silence for 5mn and alot of dumb looks from judge to District attourney to ceiling to me to judge to District attourney and back again. No corporation or resident shall have a unked or abandoned vehicle outside in plain view. The judge said Thats not a crime! At least not in my county (Pine city... 8) ) I said your honor "This is a competition vehicle that i personally own. I run a business in Lindstrom where we make jeep parts and build jeeps" Here is the breakdown of the result

Ordinance 700.12 $20.00 fine
Clerk fees $5.00
processing $60.00

Total amount $85.00

Having the judge admit it wasnt a crime in her neighborhood - PRICELESS

more red tape and time wasting by our fine county

Several States have that law. Most don't enforce it unless you really piss someone off. Here is a story about it at snopes.

"Our readers have informed us that "move over" laws are also on the books in Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Ontario, and Saskatchewan."

I always see on those cops shows the cops getting hit with the passenger mirror, or the cop jumping out of the way to prevent being hit. :sa:

i move over cause it's the right thing to do. in ca. we don't have this law
but may not need it cause the chp will direct you by p.a. system to a
safe area to be ticketed. on I-15 and I-40 it is usually an exit or a
rest area. but for the most part when we see red and blues on the
side of the road everyone slows down about 15 to 20mph and moves
over 1 lane anyway. later,dog :lo1l:
