304 Ignition Help

Hey Hey Jeepers (0llll0),

Tech question for you,

I rebuilt a 304 to go in my 79 CJ-7. I have installed a painless 10110 wiring harness. It came with a points style ignition and I am wanting to convert over to Electronic. I know there are MSD, and D.U.I. products available but is there a cheaper way to go? I read somewhere in this forum that an HEI chevy distributor fit the 258 with a gear mod. Are there any such swaps for the V8s? Or parts i can buy to convert my points style distrib to an electronic? :-|
