I was thinking of swapping in some different pistons for my 304 to get a little bit more compression but i don't kinow which way to go, or what exact boost they provide.
I have heard that 305 pistons outof a chevy would work,
that Ford 2.3L pistons would work,
AMC 290 pistons would work,
That 1970's 304 pistons were at 9:1
and there were more, but these seemed like they needed the least amount of machining to work.
I want to add more low end power and torque but i am thinking of staying stock,
my specifications for my engine are already as follows:
Block bored .040 over
Edelbrock 1406 600cfm carb
Edelbrock Performer intake
Edelbrock Performer cam
Hedman Heders,
Bolted to a TH400 with stock converter.

i want it to still run on pump gas,

any help would suffice...... thanks

4.0l and 2.5 liter pistons also fit if you bore your 304 out .125. Thats what I'm doing with a spare block I have lying around. It comes out to about 325ci and raises tthe compression a little.

I have sold them for the 304 before and they seem to be of good quality . What was you concerns? :-|

my concern was buying them and regretting it. i've found some fairly cheap and was worried that the old saying "you get what you pay for" would come into play. thanks for the insight, i appreciate it.
