New clutch install.

Well I finished the clutch install on the 86' CJ7 last night (T-176), started @ 3:30pm & finished @ 9:30pm cleaned up & ate dinner. One of thoses jobs w/out air & on laying on your back type etc. (shops not set up yet).

I haven't checked the book yet but I have a question: (Stock shifter D-300) I bolted the shifter on the stud but where the shifter end (ball) fits down inside the bracket there was a washer & a rubber gromment, does the washer go on top & the rubber gromment go in the "U" shape bracket, or does the washer go on top of the rubber gromment inside the bracket?

I have the washer on top (outside the bracket & the rubber in the bracket) & the 4x4 works just fine in low/high.

rollbar, you asking about the D-300 transfer case or the T-176 trannny?

I've got the TSM pages brought up ont the D-300 pages (diagrams 21m 25-2600) looking for what you describe and can't put my finger on it.
If it's for the tranny, does this help?

I'm talking about the D-300 where the shifter fit's down into the bracket that connects to the shift rods. I need a pic where the shifter goes into the D-300 top view & front view. It shifts o.k. but something just doesn't look right, the rubber & washer in inbetween the shift chanel is what I need to look @.
