Hmm, not sure what width springs were on the earlier CJ's :-| , but if it was a 2", then look at rubicon express' conversion shackle (part #RE2785) here:
http://www.rubiconexpress.com/dynamic/mainpage.asp?folderid=217
I know that later CJ's used 2.5 inch springs in the rear and 2" wide springs in the front. YJ's had 2.5" wide springs all around. These shackles help you convert without getting new spring hangers. Or just bolt on some YJ spring hangers.
Hope this helps,
Jack

You're spring are 1.75" If you want a longer spring to put under it, which is what I think you are looking for in the YJ springs, check these out then: Holbrook Specialties Long Leafs (http://www.holbrookspecialties.com/)

I don't have a set yet, but will eventually. They are around $650 for the set plus the new hangers. Sounds a little pricey but not really.

They are longer, but the center pin is offset to keep your axle where it belongs.

You should be able to make your own spring hangers from basic steel like tubing and plate. If you have a welder and a grinder you can save some bucks :t:

you don't always get a really pretty hanger that way, but it works, right MC? 8)
