On my wife's 86' CJ7 she has the 2bbl carter that I rebuilt awhile back & it's starting to act up again so I want to change it out.

I want to change it out to either the MC-2100 or the Holly carb.

W/the Holly carb I was told it's almost a direct bolt up, is it?
(I forget what the model # is)

W/the MC-2100 or Holly what jets should I run w/the stock engine?

I was also told that I could use the 1" spacers like they use for the FI motors, is this correct?

Thanks,
RollBar

I did the Weber DGES 38, but I also when with Clifford intake and headers too.

I'd let you know how it runs, but I couldn't get it started yesterday

I installed a weber 38 as well on a friends YJ and had the Holley on my Old YJ. I liked both equally. Only thing is weber could be hard to start sometimes. ANd occasioanally have problems at angles
but this is made to take care of that. I am sure MC could machine something fairly easily as well

That's an idea, but they show it on a staock manifold. The Clifford intake has the carb sitting sideways 'supposedly' with the same result - the floats are sideways and not inline with aproah/departure angles. Now some really off camber stuff I may get in trouble

I really like the MC2100. I had one on my 304 and it was awesome. It would run at almost any angle. Adjustments were super easy, as was rebuilding it. You can swap one onto the 258 pretty easily. Let me know if you have any questions!

I actually have 2 MC2100's sitting around doing nothing. 1 has and adapter and was set up on a 258. Make me an offer if interested

Thanks Jack, I also have the MC-2100 on the 79' 304 & I rebuilt it & it is a nice carb. I was mainly cancerned about the fuel miliage w/it & what jets to run for the stock 258 w/stock ignition (for now). I want to do the Nutter By-Pass on it soon, when I have a free weekend w/all these projects, & get rid of allot of these vacuum lines etc.

Here is a pic of all the lines in question for you guy's who forgot how it was being stock,  LOL :
