to increase your fuel economy here are some basics

use cruise control
good air filter
good plugs wires cap and rotor
slow take offs

I had a 5mpg increse when I chilled out onthe throttle at stops when I was younger...It was significant

lol well it has new wires ,cap and i just reinstalled the cruise from where the p.o had cut all the wires out of it ,transplanted the cruise from my parts rig in and it worked perfectly ..lol

Hey Iron, he forgot to tell you that when you go down the Hwy,get behind a big truck and throw a line, that should help with the mileage :?

yea hey what are you up to this weekend?
Hopefully I'll get back to working on Jeeps this weekend. Since I got laid off on Monday I've been cleaning up the back yard from Isabel damage - the last 120 foot Oak is going in the woodpile!!! I'll be posting before during an after pics soon. Even rented a bigger tactor to fill in some of the holes back there!!! Too small to 4wheel and get stuck in, but big enough to twist or break an ankle!

Erin's rock sliders came in today so I would like to get them on between rain showers. and I'd like to get the wedges and fender on the CJ and maybe finish some small stuff so I can get it out of the shop to paint the hood.

Think'n of coming down?? Got room at the Inn and space to work on Jeeps :?

Hey Mud, sorry to hear ya got laid off! I've been pretty busy here over at the beach. I just moved in with a friend and have been unpacking/throwing stuff away/consolidating. My new job is going great - less hours, but still stopping by work at least once a day. NExt week is gonna be fun, have to meet with some corporate visitors from both our office in Seatlle and our owners to talk about a complete renovation. Man do I have my hands full! I still need to find a place to store the jeep before the end of the month (paying rent at two places this month) so it doesn't get stripped one night. :?: So how are the jeeps coming? I think I might have Thursday off, if so I might try to seing out if your not doing anything.

I was at 7-11 the other day and saw a Tundra 4X4 that was COMPLETELY rhinolined from the frame to the roof - looked pretty cool. Not often you see people doing stuff with Tundras on the east coast.

On the mileage issue, when I bought my 82 Cherokee it had about 280,000 miles on it. Ran smooth, but little power, but it did get around 20 mpg on the highway! Rebuilt the 360 and put a summit cam in it. Has plenty of power now, but gets about 12 or 13 mpg MAX on the highway. Haven't even bothered trying to see what it gets in town or off road
