no, that's what happens when some rich guys wife drives her yukon like it's a race car.

And then they want the cheapest parts possible and end up in the same boat 6 months later.

Yeah, mudrat, experience taught me that.

I work at a parts store, so I have a good idea of what cars and trucks need fixing most. Almost half of the brake parts I sell are for newer GM trucks, and almost NOBODY buys the good quality parts because the low quality parts for those trucks cost as much as the good quality parts for most trucks. (Especially rear disc brakes on C/K's)

Yes, it does kinda suck, cause when I see a car/truck I like, I usually end up not liking it because I see what usually goes wrong with it, and how much it costs.

Oooofff, guess you would learn what to and what NOT to buy then ...
Hows the parts movements on 2003 Dodge 2500HD's Hemi 4x4 or 2003 1500 Suburban, 5.3L 4x4s?

Well as of yet, the majority of parts I see going out for those are brake pads and rotors. The Chevy's especially, the rear disc brakes are an issue. Parts are expensive, the rear pads are the most expensive we sell, and the rotors are right up there too. Also, there's the light duty brakes, and the heavy duty brakes. Last time I checked, the store I work at doesn't carry the rotors, or the calipers for the heavy duty brakes. Now, don't get me wrong, I do credit these trucks for not having many other problems. However, if something does go wrong, you'll pay for it. As a whole, parts for newer chevy trucks are much more money that any other trucks. O2 sensors? Four of em' $90 bucks a pop. An alternator will set you back at leas two bills for the reman, more for the new one.

My opinion? Spend the extra cash, get the absolute best parts you can find, cause the difference in price is slimmer than the difference in performance.

Sory about the book, I get a little to verbose sometimes.

quick though.

not a high dollar part, but the 5.3 gm's are always taking out fuel regulators around here, well most gm's are for that matter, i put a lot of them on, the last one i bought was for the in-laws chev truck, i think it was around $50.

Thanks Green and Taz, just got the Dodge back from it's 30K service - didn't expect it to be that much, but still got the service guy to take about $80 off :-)
Now I guess I'm ready for winter - IF it ever gets here. Today was rain and the 70's, I've got all the doors and windows open in the shop!!!
