O.K. I just looked @ the tag on the axles & I have 2.73's, I'm gonna put 33's on & when I do I will have 2.90612 gear ratio by the calculator.
I am going to rebuild the axles & put one piece's in the rear (20).

As far a lugging goes will it be to bad w/this TEMPORARY gearing, I'm gonna drop a very modified 360; 4bbl dbl pumper 600-650 cfm Holly (Ashley's motor, don't tell her) in it w/a
T-999 & a D-300 what do ya think?

I also want to get a good all around gear for DDing & off-road, any recomendations? (gas mileage) :?

Thanks,
RollBar

I'm going to run a D-300 w/a TF-999.

The pics shows a 208 t-case w/a D/S drop, I'm selling Ashley's CJ5 (no rust) frame & Tub (she want's something else & I have to many Jeeps).

I'm going to keep the 360 (has 2 hours on it) & the 999 (has no hours on it, freash rebuild) for the Scrambler, I'm dropping it in tommorrow & setting up the rolling chassie.

The Carb should be a 700cfm becaue the Holly's 600 series has the same 4 jets "O" the one I have (new) has smaller ones in the front under the choke plate & larger ones in the back. It's a dbl pumper.

I'll have to find the box.

I might have to find a D-44 for the rear, I'm not so sure that the amc-20 will hold up w/one piece axles.

P.S. Here's a pic of the carb:

Keep the M20, with the one piece axles it will essentially be a M21, which came stock behind some of the AMC V-8s.

It will be fine. Put the LOW gearing in the transfer case, and keep a moderate gear in the axles.

Just my $.02

Ya kind of like the Tera-low kit. I wonder if anyone makes something compairable to the tear-low kit but cheaper. (for the d-300).

Thanks,

Don't know if they are cheaper but on the Advance Adapters page (http://www.advanceadapters.com/catalog/010.htm) they show a J.B. Conversions kit, as well as a D300 to NP 203 adapter.

Poison Spyder sells a LoMax 4-to-1 (http://www.spydercustoms.com/index2.html)

Hope some of this helps. I didn't check the Novak site yet.

Not a problem. It was beneficial for you that I was upset with my wife and didn't feel like going to bed till late last night. So I did some digging on the net and found that stuff.

Hope some of it helps. Gotta see an 8 done right, ya know.

Hey Rollbar, some of the guys on NEOW.org were doing a group buy for the LoMax 4:1 for $500 each, they said you can still get in on it if someone wants too.

Here's the link: http://forum.neow.net/index.php?showtopic=16535&st=75

Thanks Erik, I'll have to pass but on the next go around it maybe possiable.
I just spent about 4,000 on Jeeps/parts this month & I need to finish up some projects.
Thanks again, I can't wait to Get-R-Done.

P.s. I got the 3 1/2" lift kit on the 8 & the rolling chassie almost done, pics later.
