I am psyched about them. 78/79 Ford front and a 2000 HP ford housing in the rear.

Specs:

Front:

78/79 front narrowed to ~61" wms retubed to DS drop
35 spline 4340 chromo inners and outers
Warn lockouts
high steer
4.88 RP
Detroit Elcectra Trac

Rear:

2000 Ford HP center section 3.5" tubes
35 Spline moser shafts
4.88
Disks
Detroit Elctra Trac

Should be fun with my 37 MTR's
Just gotta get my NV4500 under there with my other junk.

UH OH!!!

You took a ford front end HP that has the pinion offset to the drivers side and retubed it to the passenger side and effectively made it so your front driveshaft may hit your tranny!!!

Yep that is what I did, shouldn't have any clearence issues as the 60 yoke will be in the same spot as my Dana 30 front yoke now. I guess I am not sure why I would have a problem? How is this any different then running a Chevy 60 up front? Other then my Pinion being 1 1/8" higher.

I think I get what you are saying because my pinion is on the other side with a Ford. (RC housing)

I guess ive seen this before with a tf727 tranny, we retubed the 60 to the other side and voila the front driveshaft wouldnt work. When you run a full width 60 the center of the pinion is closer to the wheel than when you shorten one side and run the spring on the tube, you are running it on the housing and may get luckey, but Ive seen it work and not work. I guess when you install the 4500 you will know what I mean. It may work out though

I have seen this with the 727's as well, the pan is really wide much like running a 700r4. The nv4500 is actually no wider then my old t-18 (only by about a half inch) other then the extra tail housing it looks alot like a SM465. Stock CJ you have 8" from frame rail to pinion center. I will take some measurements when I get a chance on the 60 but it should be about right on. The D300 will be clocked a bit so that will move it out some. I'm sure it won't line up perfect but not like I will be running 4x4 down the highway.

Edit:

YEs I can see this being a problem if you run the spring on the tube, we built a spring perch on the housing.

Phew, took some measurements 8". Maybe a shade more which is ok because I will be clocking the D300 a bit (one notch) efectivly rotating the front output out a bit. The yokes are 1410 series U bolt (not straps) yokes.

MC you had me worried there that I overlooked something!

Hard to say as I traided stock front Dana 60's for all the work done. I happened to have a plethra of dana 60 fronts sitting in my buddies barn that I had collected. Didn't feal like selling and shipping them so I traded them for the axle work. The front as a complete unit not broken down with all the parts listed totally rebuilt is about a 3500.00 axle. My actual cash out of pocket was significantly less.

I will take a look at my reciept and look, for some reason ~450 bucks for the labor rings a bell and I think that was trimmed a good bit.
