I hope whatever you hit with your head is okay  . I have done nothing this weekend :t: . Okay I did work on the Bronco a little but that will be neverending. If you want a tan come out to Vegas, you can get a tan in your house in the summer :!: .

:? Got my 390 back from the machine shop Saturday afternoon. Re-cleaning the block today, coating the lifter valley with Glyptal, checking all clearances, and hopefully getting the crank set in. I re-check everything done by the machine shop. It's easier to check/correct now than have to take it back apart later, or worse, have the engine come apart.

SAT - Got most of the YJ dash back in - have some turn signal issues in the rear harness. When the left is blinking the right running light dims and vs vs when the right blinks the left dims??

Sun, worked a chainsaw for about 5 hours cleaning up the last tree from the hurricane. Just when I was calling it quits    (about 2:30) the neighbors boy comes over with a problem with his Neon. Can't get the front hub off to install new studs (he said the "service shop" cross threaded 3 of 5 and one snaped off at the hub face, the other two are unservicable!!)
Long story short - MC to the rescue (except his cell never seems to be charged??)
Well at 6 we dropped by AZ and rented a major-kinetic-energy-slam-hammer-wheel-puller. 4 whacks and the sum-beotch came off - with only 1/2 the 8) sealed bearing that kept everything stuck in place (the inner race was seized on the hub shaft).

Now. How in the heck are we going to get the other 1/2 of the 8) sealed bearing out??

Their should be another lip on the backside of the bearing just before the retainer. Tell your neighbor you want him to brign the spindle in for servicing, without the right tools you wont be able to pull the bearing

Sounds like you guys had a busy weekend....yeah cheapjeep it was south lindstrom Lake....People on the beach thought I was dead :!:

?? Do you have a drawing of the spindle and how the bearing goes in? When it all came apart, the hub with the inner race seized to it, what stayed in the spindle was the outer race and balls for the bearing. There is no way I could see to get anything behind the outer race. Unless we pull the spindle off - and that looks like a MAJOR pain!! Struts, ball joints, upper and lower arms etc... there has to be an easier way. :-| Oxy and Acetylene??

Thanks - I'm begining to hate American made Jap-Crap!!

I caught that part - how do we get it from his moms driveway to the service shop without a left front wheel? I guess I'm not that creative in getting a 3 wheel POS on my trailer?!

Well I'm not worried about the weight - 12,000 lb trailer and the truck can handle it all. And Nope dont have a tranny jack. We have the car on wheel dollies now with the bare spindle sitting on a 2x4. Need to figure out how to make it semi permanent so we can wheel it to the trailer. Getting it up the ramp will be the challenge. Well, a 12,000 lb winch outta do it though.

The problem for the kid is getting the $$ to pay for the repair.

Hehehehe Yeah, I remember that now :?
Sorta the same type trailer, but I have 2 equipment ramps rather than a gate/ramp.
http://members.cox.net/mudrat/87%20YJ/YJ_on_trlr.JPG

Have the same type 4-wheel dollies - currently under all 3.25 wheels
Could build a plywood ramp and winch it up. Getting it off at the shop??? Push and pray
The problem will be getting a macpherson strut and the dolly to stick to each other. Suppose a 1500 lb tie-down stap would work?? I'll need the 10K straps for the 2400 lb POS.

Ya know :-| he's gunna owe me some serious beer for this!!!
