Quadrajet fit on Performer

I'm about to bid on a rebuilt q-jet on ebay, price is right. This is the great description.
PART# 7028244. THIS IS A FACTORY REBUILT 4 BARRELL QUADRAJET. ALL WE KNOW IS THAT IT FITS BUICK AND IT HAS A DIVORCED CHOKE.

Any reason why I couldn't use that on an Edelbrock performer non EGR?

I'm thinking the q-jet is a spread bore carb (the secondarys are much bigger and wider than the primaries). The performer manifold is a square bore (same width primary and secondary). You can buy a spread bore to square bore adapter, but they're about 1" thick if you have hood clearance, and you create another place for a vacuum leak.

This carburetor is a 800 CFM carb, as it has the larger 1 7/32 primary bore as opposed to the 1 3/32 of the smaller q-jets. This carb is also a non-feedback carb so it would be an excellent choice if you are planning on getting rid of your feedback controls.

Yea, I'm aware of the adapter situation, and I should have plenty of room.. It goes on my 360 that's currently in my '89 YJ... If I have to, I'll cut a hole in the hood... :lo1l:
