O.K. here's the situation.
1996 Cherokee w/a 4.0 in it ready to be used in another JeeP.
I sold the tranny for the Xj & the guy said he would bring back the crank position sensor so I can start the engine (chry better ideas) if he had it, he's looking tonight.
It's (crank position sensor reads the flywheel) a dumb idea.
Is there any way to start or get it to fire w/out the sensor, I by-passed the neutral safety switch & it turns over but won't fire, I drove it around for a little bit before I sold the tranny so I know it runs.
If he bring the sensor could I just hold it there to get it to fire or do I need the original bell housing of which I don't know if it seperates from the tranny on the 2wd's.
************************************************** **********
*Another one.*
Is there another tranny I could use w/this engine in another JeeP & can I by-pass the computer some how.
There has got to be away because everyone doesn't have the same tranny behind the 4.0 FI, do they?
Thanks everyone,
