Okay, since there's no way I'll be able to afford the EFI set-up anytime soon (I'll have to live with my Holley Pro-jection), how much are the Bulltear HEI's? I'm messing with the underhood wiring right now anyway.

So what day did you ship those out?

and are you sure that the meth head that pulled the gun on you wasnt hired by or possibly the UPS guy who was slightly irritated at you for shipping so many heavy items/kits out all at once at 5pm on what everday.

Cool i will have to get the little brother to swing by the house and watch for them. Last thing i want to do is have $3500 in boxes sitting out in front of the house for a couple of days while i am out of town working.

:-| Or am i going to need to get him over there to sign for the packages?

Maybe i should have thought this out a little better

New 401 w/Edelbrock EFI dynoed at 442hp and 458 torque, idles at 900rpm. 8.25/1 compression, indy heads (heads flowed 630) mild Crower cam. I wanted this motor to run on any gas that may be avalable when out jeeping so low compression, and it need to idle some what as I spend a lot of time in the rocks (mild cam). The motor made more power with the carb set up used for break in. I think that i should have gone with 36lbs injectors insteed of the 29lbs. I added 20% global fuel, +10% above 4000rpm and an aditional +10% ABOVE 5000rpm from the Edelbrock programing.

Indy heads eh...hmmmm Edelbrock was getting 480 with their heads this EFI and a special camshaft for AMC's we will be debuting very soon. Not saying Indy's may outflow the edelbrock heads. I would like to see a comparison :-|

can you hook the system up to a computer to tune it if you want? I know it comes with a module for doing that, but it seems like you can get better graphs and whatnot from a puter....

So who has the answer? Talking with the chebby reps, you can't hook anything but the Chebby tester to their OBDCII block without screwing something up.

Not to get off topic, but what's up with the BT HEI's?????? I might consider looking into that for my little baby this spring if the price is right.

Anyone have one of these yet? What are the results? Lot of improvement in mileage and throttle? Can't seem to find anyone's experience with them yet.

yeah had it for five months looks good on my engine stand

Currious as to what others think about that external fuel pump with exposed eletrical posts. wondering if this is going to be a fuse blowing shorting out issue when crossing seat deep creeks? since its mounted on the frame. Any thoughts

Once you acheive a good connection you should smear RTV on the ends to make it water proof

Or liquid electricians tape. I've done all mysplices with the liquid stuff and heat shrink on top to ensure it's water proof.

:-| No we all are just reeling from the investment and had to save up to complete installing it properly via fixing all the other bugs around it to make it look clean. Wouldnt want to install such a bling bling thing on a rusty old motor, at least gotta save up and buy those 4 cans of paint to make it look like we is running a rebuild.

that or in my case winter is when that stuff gets put on spring is when i'll test fire her.

Can anyone post a pic of the underside of the Edelbrock throttlebody? Trying to figure out how to get a carb on the intake (I'm making an adapter) and haven't figured out how important the signal at the 3 manifold ports is. Will switch from carb to aftermarket throttlebody which is different bolt pattern that the Ed t/b hence the adapter plate. If I can contour the adapter to get the proper signal to the manifold ports then I only have to make one adapter.

Thanks in advance.

What kind of benifits are you getting from spending all that cash on EFI? Is your gas milage better or power delivery smoother, stronger, etc?

a401classic

I'm working on a twin turbo 401 and after pricing carbs for blown applicataions vs. building my own EFI setup vs. total project cost, the EFI setup, plus it's flexibility was the way to go for me. Besides, I'm tired of trying to dial in a carb, so I'm gonna let a computer do it this time.
