I have a 360 that i might use if the crankshaft wont present a problem.

it was out of a 77 FSJ, with a TH400 from the factory behind it, I want to run a np435, and i have the conversion pilot bushing, but i have read a few posts concerning auto crankshafts being a bit different than standard trans cranks??
I just wanted to clear it up before i dump money into something.

If worst case happens, and it is different, i have one or two old 304 crankshafts that i read might work? I thought theyd be different.

thanks for the help.

They shared the same crank since late 70. Depending on if your conversion sleeve is installed in the larger hole in the crank or not you may need to peel out the bushing for the converter. The std. trans bushings go inside the small diameter hole

Yup, I agree. If yours is a 77 and has a TH400, then you probably are running a QTrack as well. Anywho, there is a little bushing that came with all TH400 equiped engines located in the crank shaft on the end. It's a pain in the but to pull out, but thats about it. Everything else will be the same. I had to cut mine out with a dremel tool.

Hope this helps,
Jack
