Mystery Balloon Wheel Vehicle from Belarus
Posted on Monday, December 13 2004 @ 12:23:43 EST by i4u

We received photos and a video from an I4U reader (thanks zenonn) living in Belarus. He attended a demonstration of a new six balloon wheel sporting all-terrain or cross-country vehicle.

The intriguing kinda fun looking vehicle is going on sale in 2005. There are 19 photos in our Gadget Gallery of the still nameless driving machine. Some of the photos show the vehicle driving through water (see photo below) and through ice.

A short video (350KB) shows the Belarus vehicle go over obstacles.
The factory making those vehicles said it will have a web site up in February 2005 presenting this vehicle in more detail.

Gibbs Humdinga - Amphibian SUV
Posted on Friday, June 04 2004 @ 09:39:13 EDT by i4u

Gibbs introduces military version of the Aquada amphibian car called Humdinga.

Powered by a 350 HP engine, the 5-seater 'Humdinga' is capable of travelling on land at 100 mph and on water at 40mph. Although the new water SUV uses the same patented HSA (High Speed Amphibian) technological platform as the Gibbs Aquada, it shares no common component parts or systems with its predecessor.

The Gibbs Humdinga switches from land to water mode with a push of a button. The wheels retract, the power train switches from the wheels to a jet propulsion system and the vehicle is in amphibious mode.
As a concept vehicle, it is not intended that the Gibbs Humdinga will be manufactured in its current form unless Arnold Schwarzenegger orders one.
