I have someone w/a set of J-10 (1979?) D-44 axles & he want's to sell'em, since they are passenger side drop I was thinking of useing them in the CJ8.
Question: Will they bolt up or do I have to modify them?
How bout the steering/linkage etc.?
Thanks,

You'd have to outboard the CJ front springs, or narrow the axle. A CJ frame is 27.5" wide, the J10 is around 32". To center the axle, you wind up with a spring right on top of the pumpkin. The rear you would have to move the spring pads and shock mounts.
Steering linkage would be the same, U-fab-It.

You can get frame widening kits for like $300 and you can always put it back the way it was!

i know bluetorchfab, and Poison Spyder both make a outboard kit. I like the looks of the Poison Spyder a little better, because it is easier to choose shackle placement
