Have you guys ever thought of getting on the DIY Beadlock craze? Best I've seen out there at http://www.longfieldsuperaxles.com/ Anybody out there tried this?

The cool part is the extra ring that keeps the outer ring from distorting when the bolts are sinched down. and I realley like the tread inserts supplied.

Are they inserts with a lip to keep them in?

MC, correct me if I'm wrong. The ones I've seen that weld on actually go outside the existing wheel lip, adding about 1" to the width of the wheel. They also have no provision for centering the outer tire bead, so if you aren't SUPER careful when tightening the ring, the tire will have an off-center wobble.

On the beadlocks I got from TrailReady, they machine the outer bead off, then weld an inner ring where the back of the factory bead sat. You still have to seat the tire in the factory bead area, so it's positively centered. The clamp ring bolts to a second ring welded inside the factory wheel.

Much better design, in my eyes, but also more expensive due to the work involved.
