:?: :?: Got the AMX running (again) on Sunday. Sounds great, about 55 PSI oil pressure hot, just above idle. This is using a Bulltear nickel cover, mid plate, and filter bracket. I did some more investigation, and the previous cam gear failure may have been due to a worn distributor housing. Even though it's the one that came out, I took it apart, cleaned the varnish off, and re-assembled with a Pertronix conversion. It looks like it had too much play at the gear end. Combined with the aluminum pump gears, I think the gear deflected enough to run up too high on the teeth. Hopefully better now with new gears and new aftermarket distributor.
Got the heat and A/C parts blasted and painted, so I should get the dash and interior completed pretty soon if the warm weather holds.
For you easterners, did I mention it was 70 degrees and sunny on Sunday? 8)
