I am building a 401 for street. I am using a stock crank and rods. However I intend on putting in flat top pistons, rpm heads, rpm air gap and roller tip rockers. I am going to use the msd pro billit with a 6al box.
I am trying to get a minimum of 450 hp and that much torque. Does anyone know if this combo will work with a comp mag 280cam. my car has a 3.54 rear & with driver is approx 3300 pds. I'll use what ever carb it takes.
I need advice since I am a rookie.
thanks

so you know if you put flat top pistons in you will be around 12:1 cr

my guess is just plain old high octane stuff.(100+) I just want HP & Torque. Car is driven less than 2k per year. I may want to make a few passes at the strip. If it takes rocket fuel I say let her have it. :t:

If it does come out to 12:1, then you'll have your 450 hp. As for the cam, I'de call a cam company.
