would a air gap intake be a terrible thing to put on a 360 for a CJ with a summit k8600 cam? would I reallly be able to tell the loss of low end?

I found a used one for cheap

Gobble it up...they are for a little higher RPM but work decent in the low range..not as good as a performer though.

Mine performed better than the performer all through the rpm range. It has a lopeir idle though, and harder to start on cold mornings.

Would a alumnium 4bbl SP2-P be better than a 4 bbl dual plane AMC V-8 Air-Gap intake manifold from Edelbrock.

Sorry for the hijack.

An sp2p has the smallest ports. This is usually best for a 290 or 304. A 360 performs better with a performer or an air-gap.

Get the air gap, it works well on a stock 360, works in even better with a cam.

Buddy of mine runs a Torquer once on his 304, next on his 360 and finally on his current 401, he has NO issues with bottom end the thing has performed impecably over teh years of rock crawling. we all still have a hard time believeing how well it has worked on all of the engines without much for low end noticable loss at all.

Air Gap didnt seem to loose any low end on a 360 over the performer that was on it before.

Do not runt eh SP2 its annemic

WOuld this be a bad idea for a smog controlled truck?

I noticed they are Non-EGR. Could it ba adapted or which intake would be the best for a smog controlled truck?

I have a stock AMC 4bbl intake as well.

well, let me ask this. Will the heat sheild have to be modified any for the air gap?

you know with the non egr performer, it'll go right on, but with the egr performer it'll need some modifying. Does the same go for the air gap?
