Finally got the pan and pump. The pump looks killer. I will finally get to use that dual remote filter I bought years and years ago.

So far, the parts list is coming along fine, waiting on bushings for rods to fit Kieth Black pistons(10.5 to 1) Trying to decide if I am going to get a better crank dampener, the moter not going to be turned over 6000RPM but will be balanced. Anybody done an internal balance on a AMC before?

Cower said with this cam, it should put out 470 to 490hp...that NOT including the Total Seal rings, crank scraper or the porting on the heads. Which I guess should put me into the 500hp range pretty easy.

I'm running an offy intake with 2 edelbrock 600's. The block is getting bored 30 over and drilled for the Indy oil pump. I got the rings (Total Seal) the other day. All in all this should be one killer motor for supporting the Arab Empire. :t:

I could put it in my Javelin

But just for fun 111!!! I'm putting it in my $400 J10 and going to the fairs to pull and for unsuspecting people at the stoplights :!:

Nice!!!!

Those Indy covers are decent!! Pretty spendy though...how much do you have into that setup. I think around $1100 is what they currently go for. We were going to be a Indy distributor but they were pretty rude on the phone when we mentioned AMC :(:

hurry up and clean up that oil before theold lady kicks you out of the garage :?:

We won't talk about the $'s involved with this set up...the woman would kick me out of the house also then. :(:

All I can say is the cover and pump was cheaper than $1000. But then I have to buy some fittings for the block and pan and remote filter...plus the lines.

HP isn't cheap...especially when it's AMC HP. Yep, I'd be out of the house and maybe the garage also. HA

What additional holes need to be machined in the block for the indy cover?

The Indy cover has the stock location oil suction in port from the block. But it is lacking the stock oil out into the block port.

Reason...The pump is basicaly a one stage dry sump pump. It has the stock suction in that goes to the top of the gears and then it has a hole that you can use Mildon pan and run a line into it. The other side of the pump is the pressure out, you need to run a line to a filter and back to the block.

I'm going to drill out the block (the locating hole on the pan rail) for the second oil line on Mildons pan to use both inlet ports on the Indy pump. The Pressure out is going to go into my block were the stock oil sending unit is. The line runs directly up to the lifter galley. That's the other one I am going to have drilled and tapped as large as it can go.

I may be doing it alittle different than other may. But I want to make sure the motors going to get all the oil it needs and then some.

I plan on using Crowers "cam saver" lifters...they have a small flat ground on them to dump oil onto the cam lobes. They claim only a 1 to 2 lb drop in pressure. Shouldn't be a problem for the Indy pump as it's got bigger gears then stock.

I'll also be picking up the block and rotating assembly today, they finely have it done...then its off to get the cam bearings installed and the oil holes drilled and tapped. Then finaly God willing I can start putting this dang thing to geather. I may miss most of the pulls this year as the machining seems to have taken forever to get done. But I'll still have plenty of time to lose my license at the stoplights!

The tranny is being rebuilt with better clutches and disks, the guy rebuilding it says he may be able to put in a caddy drum that holds an extra disk or two...we'll see about that later this week. Have to pull the transfer case next to get it gone through...it's just been so dang hot to work on it lately. I'll have more pics some time this week.

Evertime I see this thread I just start laughing...this has got to be one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. You gotta take this to the strip! Reminds me of the guys that race the deisel trucks in TX.

Well, if I had the money... I aways had this idea about a gutted motor home and maybe a couple of supercharged 454's running through a long muffled exhaust system.

I aways thought that would be fun at the stoplights in some big town on "cruise night".

Indy sure makes a lot of AMC stuff, I wonder what their problem is? 111!!!
