Just wondering what people would think if someone made a cherokee look like a grandwagoneer, by putting the woody look on the body , etc. I live in brisbane , Australia and have not seen one grandwagoneer full stop . I love the look of them especially modified , i am building an 82' cherokee now & thinking would it be possible or would it look too fake ?

Also if i don't do that , whta do yuo reckn would be/is a great color for a cherokee FSJ ( will be done in Urethane ) ???

Funnly enough its always the small insignificant things that stay on your mind , everything else is dandy doing this project , except the frigg'n finish/ color.been on my mind lately.

cheers
Rick

I have always been fond of the black cherry that came on the waggy's. I say go for the wood treatment!! Should look killer!

Do you mean a Cherokee XJ, the midsize, or a FSJ Cherokee?

If you mean the XJ, they made them stock, called them Briarwoods.

Same Jeep with 6" Lift and 35s

If you mean a FSJ Cherokee, sure, why not, it's more or less the same body as a Grand Wagoneer.

Should look good.

suprising what a suspension lift, offroad tyre & wheel package can do to a fourby. Your standard cherokee looks lame stock standard , then it looks like a totally different Jeep with the lift & wheeels , looks like a pitbull- compliments !

If you want a high lift, get a Ford D44 ('76ish over here) with axle shafts and have your gears (or better ones) put in. Then drill the steering knuckles and put http://ottindustries.com high steer high clearance arms on. Keep your tierods, but replace the center tubes (longer) and it will come up about 7" taller (depending on the thickness of your spring pack)
Then you can respring the rear to match. Riverbeast (can't recall the link) had shackle flip kits that help a lot with stock springs.
