79 chief ?

have chance to p/u a 79 chief it has inverted shackle in rear , guy says it needs shock mounts on axel. how are shocks on axel? a u bolt plate like a cj?i,d have to drive it 2 1/2 hrs home i,m thinking it would handle scary with no shocks hooked to axel.trying to see if i could take parts with me to hook shocks up to get her home.any pics of shock to axel on a 79 chief?

You'll be fine, it'll just be really bouncy - I drove a lifted CJ7 like that for a year. I think they attach to welded brackets on the axle tube like a waggy...
