Hi there, I was told about this site by a friend and it is cool. Lots of good info and people, glad to be here. Anyway here is my 80 CJ7 from start to right now. This past summer I did a SOA lift, put in a 727 automatic w/stall, 360 for now, all new brakes, steering lockers, gears and about everthing in between. I did the body and interior last year, I did just order a stainless dash and Autometer gauges to finish it off. I am also building a 401 for it right now, the parts are rolling in and the machine work is in progress. I also attached some pics from last Thursday after some *&#%&@ tried to steal it, now I need to replace the steering coloum and it has a battle scar at the back. Now maybe my girlfriend wont be so upset when it goes back in the mud {because thats what it is built for}!

I guess I should clear this up. I did not get my Jeep hungup like that, This was when it was stolen and I luckily it had a broken rear axel and he was not smart enough to put it in 4wheel drive. He missed the drive and jumped out and ran. Nice

Hey Pat and the others for the comments, as for the SOA lift I was trying to get a better ride so I did the SOA and then removed 2 leafs from each corner and maintained close to the same hight. Thats where the traction bars come in, with less springs we made to traction bars to help with wheel hop {when I get the 401 in} LOL. This is a setup that my buddy has tested and proved on his Wrangler with a 500HP 390 and NOS, he allways finishes 1st in the mud sling so we copied it on mine. And so it did help the ride and we will soon see how it hooks up in the pit.
Thanks Richard

Hey Pat, that sure is one clean project you have there. Have you done the axles yet? I got my new axles the other day and am thinking about doing it thsis weekend, or I still need to paint the hardtop and doors that I bought a couple months ago. Time, there just is not enough of it.....

Thanks :t: It started to be a frame-up/body-off, resto and got out of hand 111!!!

I've got the 44 in up front and the gears are supposed to be here tomorrow for the back. I've also got a YJ project going on that has eaten WAYYYYYyyyy more time (and $$$) than I expected or wanted it too  But there is no rust or bondo on either one!!! Everything that had cancer was cut out and new 16ga galvanized panels welded in.

I'm really hoping to have it out of the shop an on the road by next month - gotta break in that 360 before I just break it!!!

About the only thing left in the drive line is the 4wd handle and the front axle - and that may be gone this weekend. If it's under the dash it still may be there, but not haveing ever worked on an SJ, WTF is it :-|
