Waggy for tow rig?

A guy I know is selling an '86 Waggy am I'm curious how it would be as a tow rig. I'd be pulling my TJ or smaller rig. It is a '86 with 360/727 with 44 front and 20 rear. I haven't seen it yet, but he says it's in great shape and everything works on it. Oh and he's asking 1k for it. How does that sound?

first time i towed with my fsj i found the rear leaf springs way to tired/soft. i got 1 extra leaf and got the lot put thru the furnace and re-set..and i found the origional gearing crap for towing!i changed to 3.73's instead of the 3.31's..(@ that time i had 31x10.5x15 tyres!.now it tows great!! :t:
