how strong a spring is good with a hydraulic cam.i got the ones that came in my edelbrock heads checked after running them maybe 100 miles and they are 133 lbs.the guy at the store(that builds race motors)told me that is pushing it.he said he dosnt like to go over 120Lbs.what is everybody running.it is a 1978 360 hydraulic cam edelbrock heads bored 30 over 10to1 forged pistons and h beam rods.dont tear me up for this but i am putting in a summit 8600 cam this will be temporary for about a year(i have my reasons)thanx for any and all help on this.

Yeah thats too steep...call edelbrock they will set you up!

120lbs is good for ya. mc is right thats too steep.

thanks guys.can i get different retainers to lower it or do i need a whole new set of springs and what not.i have been having alot of problems with this motor but it is my first and when it is running it is a monster.i have been down for a while now but i think i have it figured out this time.if any body has any other tips please speak up. :sa:
