So if I can send my cylinder heads to anyone in the country, who does the best work?

Im looking for my engine to make huge mid range power. I can send them either Edelbrock aluminum heads or cast AMC heads, either 58cc or 51cc.

So who gets them for the best results?

Adam it isnt really worth it to port the Edelbrock heads but a nice polish on the inside helps out a little. You can port a cast iron head tremendously but it will cost big bucks and you can only gain marginal flow over a set of polished eddies. Thats just my experience.

Adding to basic subject: If I was going to purchase new aluminum heads for the street, would you go with Edelbrock or Indy? If Indy, are the race heads too much to use on the street on a 4 speed 401?

I just replaced the 360 in my CJ7 with a 401. I decided to go with the Edelbrock heads to go with the 260H Comp Cam. This thing makes an amazing amount of power right off idle. Judging from the seat of my pants, this thing may be making twice the power of the 360 it replaced. I am very pleased with the performance so far, and the street manners are very civil.
