I'm tearing down my 360 and noticed that the oil plugs are square and not a 'hex' ...anyone know where I can get wrenches for these?

Also, what is the thread for the (2) plugs in the side of the block just above the oil pan but between the the rear two freeze plugs? They look like a pipe thread.

Thanks!

I've never seen a production "wrench" for the oil galley plugs. I've got an old 3/8" extension ground down to fit. I usually replace them with Allen head pipe plugs.

The holes on the side of the block are also pipe thread, I think they're the same size as the galley plugs. They go into the water jacket for draining the block. Some people use petcocks just like on the bottom of the radiator.

I just use a pc of key stock bent at a 90 to get them out and 1/4 pipe I think

The striking end (square) end of 1/8" Sears Craftsman punch works to take out the square pocket plugs also.... :t:
