Does a FI engine have a lower compression than a carburated engine?

258 to 258. I was told this morning that the FI engine was lower, hummmmm, doubt it but,,,,,,.

Reason, I need a starter for the XJ so my kids can take it to college.

Thanks,

I see a couple of things here

First, EFI was invented as a way to make the fuel atomize better and for a better more efficient fuel flow and metering to the cylinder.

Second, Their werent any fuel injected 4.2ltrs (258's)

Third, You can eat a ton of chinese food and be full the next minute

Fourth, most EFI engines have higher compression

BUT since you can get fuel to disperse better you can run a few less points of compression yet yeild the same power.

What was the question again?
