Yep. Probably a postal (DJ) with the top cut off. The grille is DEFINITELY a postal.

Not all DJs were postal Jeeps. That just looks like a stock DJ-5. Two wheel drive and removable tops just like the CJ-5s.

Maybe he was thinking about the 'Surrey', ala Fantasy Island. It was made from a CJ3A or 3B if I remember right. A friend in Colorado has 2 originals. Pink/white striped seats and bikini type tops with fringe.

But a "Safari" version???

I've never heard of such an animal either; I believe the seller thinks because it is an open top Jeep that it's a "Safari" Jeep.

I have antique plates on my 77 CJ7. Most states issue antique plates after 25 years.
