I have one that's in my jeep and running, you can come and drive it or hear it run and then we'll pull it. I'm putting a 360 in mine. I believe it has about 70k on it, runs perfect, just tuned it up a couple months ago and haven't put many miles on it.

You should get one of the early style Renix blocks (87-91) They have more nickel in them and after 100k the bore is virtually the same  The 4.0 that came out of my 88 XJ had 164k on her when i yanked it due to oil pump failing and to my astonishment when i yanked the head......no ridge!

Will that lower end work with my '92 HO head intake and etc?So far I haven't found anyone to answer that question definitively.

the ho head will go on a non ho block. it is a very common swap to put a ho head on a 258. Though when putting it on a 250 some of the waterjackets need to be plugged. But there should be no problem putting a ho on a non ho 4.0 hesco performance has a gread deal of info on these engines. and a good message board.

if your looking for a good sturdy block get a 87-91 4.0 or a 96 and up block they have a good balance and stud girdles for the crank they have NVH on the side of the block....drivers side i believe.....but neways Noise Vibration Harshness if you have ne more questions jus pm me I was in the process of building a 450 HP 5.0 stroked 4.0 complete with supercharger and all.....then i got fed up with my cherokee and bought another CJ......the CJ is in the process of a 401 stroker as soon as MC gives us some news on the 304 to 340 and 360 to 401 cranks
