?
In about two to three months I will have the CJ8 to M-170 project on the road & my question is as follows.

Engine-360CI

1. I turn the engine over by hand once in a while but before I start it should I squirt some MM Oil down the cylinders and let it sit for a day or two & turn it by hand some more?

I know I should pull the dizzy (or crank it untill pressure comes up) & get some oil pumping etc.

2. What do you do? The engine ran & has sat for a 1 1/2 to 2 yrs. for the build w/turning the crank by hand.

Thanks,

I would prime the oil system and clean the carb, use a new fuel filter.

In addition to the above, make sure that you heat cycle the engine several times before you bring the revs up too much, let it wear off any rust or varnish + move around & take a "set". Wouldn't be bad to change the oil & filter again at this point.
I've seen several otherwise good engines get a knocking rod when revved too soon after sitting in freezing weather for a couple of years w/o running.

Heat cycle meaning let it run for 5 & shut down & then keep extending the time?

Thanks,

10-4, that will work.
