I have a rockcrawler with amc 304. efi, tf 727, d300. I want to build a 360 or 401, but I have no clue where to start at. I was thinking a 360 stroker. I'm running 1 tons and 38's so it the axles should hold up fine. What would be a good starting point and how much would I be looking at to build a stroker motor?
Thanks,
Bobby
360's are more available than a 401, so a 360 would be a cheaper starting point unless you already have a 401 sitting around then I would start with that. As far as price on a stroker motor, that all depends on what parts you plan on using. If you use what parts you already have I would guess that you would spend around $2000 or so. If you plan on buying a moldex crank and an exotic rod, piston, cyl. head combo you could easily spend $6000+

Don't know if you've seen the stroker area in the forum.

MC here at Bulltear is working on getting stroker cranks built for the 360. Keep checking back, because costs will be well below Moldex if it happens.

For curiosity what can I do to the 304 for significant increase in power?
Thanks,
Bobby
Head work, cam, intake, and carb (or fuel injection).

What would be a good cam choice considering I have a TBI setup from www.customefis.com This is for a Crawler. Also is it possible to put a turbo on a 304 for the hill climbs.
