360 question

So I got to looking at my rods and they have what appears to be either very, very tiny cracks or scratches coming off of the little indention that the bearing fits in. Is this normal? I ask because I have bought or looked at several sets of used rods and they all have had this. Is it something to worry about? If it is where should I go to get rods at? napa, carquest, autozone, etc dont carry them.

I have 6 360 rods in my shed from an engine that spun the #5 rod bearing and ruined the #5/6 rods. I'll take a look at them.

I looked at the rods I have, and can't see anything like you describe. You should take yours to a machine shop and have them cleaned and magnafluxed before tossing them. A rebuilder should be able to tell you if it's a crack or just something in the original machining.

If you need these rods, I'd let them go for any reasonable offer. I don't have anything to use them in right now. My focus is on a 390 and 401 I have. I'll look for a complete 360 once MC comes up with those stroker cranks.

I should be picking up a well worn 360 this weekend, when I tear it down, I'll have a look for what your describing and let you know.

I've got 2 complete 304's and 2 complete 360's and since 304's and 360's use the same rod i've got 4 sets for ya! If a whole set is needed im in Ohio and the zip is 43950 so you figure shipping and ill cut ya a hell of a deal :t:
