DOES ANYONE HAVE A PART NUMBER FOR A PILOT BUSHING FOR A 401 (LATE) RUNNING A T-18? NAPA NUMBER?

Just ask for a bushing for a 76-79 CJ with a 304 and T-150. That was a factory combo that will be in their computer/books. The same bushing will fit the 401/T-18 combo.

UNLESS - this is a Wagoneer. The OD of the Wagoneer T-18 input is larger. They still used a T-18 from 74-79, just ask for the Wagoneer application.

I put a 401/t18 in my jeep. The 304 bushing didn't fit. I bought a ford 390 bushing and had a local machine shop turn down the outside diameter to fit the 401 crank (a little larger than the dia of the crank for a press fit. (Froze the bushing before installation).

I have the pilot for the T-18 401. The transmission I am using has an input shaft 1 inch shorter than the T-18. I need a pilot bushing that installs on the large ID of the crankshaft rather than the inner ID.

Try Novak Conversions www.novak-adapt.com. They should know what you need.

Did you get this 401 from an engine that had a TH400 behind it? If so, you will need to remove the little bushing thing that is in the crank first in order to get a pilot bushing in. Just a thought. The bushing that they are talking about should fit a 304 or 401.
