YEEEEEEEEE - HAAAA ! :lo1l:

Found a source for 343-360 CAST 4V FLAT TOP & 2V SMALL DISHED PISTONS !

EGGE Obsolete Engine Parts - 866-534-3443 ( EGGE ) - http://www.egge.com/

Hard to find on webpage cause they're listed under RAMBLER !
also webpage info is incorrect, says 4.000 bore but they are 4.080.

They even also have the original 1.600 compression height rather than 1.580 loke others.
These are made by Egge themself. Said they had'em IN STOCK in +.020, +.030, +.040, +.060

$330 +ship for #L2335 2V small dished Cast Pistons

$306 +ship for #L2336 4V FLAT TOP with (4) Eyebrow valve reliefs Cast Pistons

So all y'all lookin' for some good Cast pistons for your AMC 360's
that'll give ya some good COMPRESSION well here they are !
Wish I'd found these sooner, my 343 motor is allready together, dang gone it !

In a stock '72 and up AMC 360 that was 8.5:1 CR with 58cc heads the flat tops
will give about 11.0:1 CR ! by my calculations, using 2cc eyebrow volume.
Which means the chambers can be opened up to unshroud the valves !
And the 1.600 stock Compression Height gives a decent .012 Deck Clear / Quench.

Have calcultaed the 2V pistons would have about an 8cc Dish volume.
These would give about a 10.3:1 CR ! in a 360 with 58cc heads !

The guy at EGGE, Jim, was not able to give me the dish volume for the 2V pistons.
Working backwards from a 343 2V 9.5 CR I came up with the 8cc 2V dish volume.
If anyone calls'em/ maybe ask if they have the dish dimensions for the 2V and post it here.

Man, finally higher CR cast pistons for 360's ! Whooo Hoooo !

=D> :? =D>

Found this when organizing files at work. Wish I would have found it sooner and saved you some searching.

---> UPDATE - Revision <---

After further phone discussion today with Egge

they are now saying the 343 pistons they offer

have a compression hieght of 1.570, not 1.600

So this will result in lower CR's when installed in a 360

and ends up with a kinda "bad" quench distance of .087 nominal.

So using nominal values - no deck mill .042 deck clear,
no head mill, 4.110 bore (360 +.030), 5.875 rod, 3.44 stroke

Egge 4V Flat Tops 2cc eyebrows 58cc heads = 10.3:1
Egge 4V Flat Tops 2cc eyebrows 51cc heads = 11.3:1

Egge 2V 8cc Dish w/eyebrows 58cc heads = 9.7:1
Egge 2V 8cc Dish w/eyebrows 51cc heads = 10.5:1

They did say they make there own cast piston here in the USA

and if ( 10 ) sets were ordered they could make them to a "requested" spec. :-|

Did not hear back from the request for quote sent to Egge.
Called - said they'd need to make a new mold - cost to high.
Hard to believe existing mold can not allow .030 more cast material on top of piston for a finish machined Compression Height of 1.600 rather than the existing 1.570, only talked to sales person, not any engineering or manufacturing folks

UPDATE - existing Rambler 343 pistons Egge offers.

Said on phone - Compresson Height is 1.570 for both 2V & 4V.
Could not provide volume info in cc's of eyebrows or dish.
Eyebrows in the 4V pistons are 1.625 long x .625 wide x .125 deep
Dish in 2V piston is 2.750 dia x .110 deep in addition to the same eyebrows as 4V piston.

NOTE: dish cc's in image text boxes may not be correct,
manufacturer would not varify, 2V may be ~14cc's

2V Egge Rambler 343 part number L2335
4V Egge Rambler 343 part number L2336

FYI, I just bought EGGEs last set of 343 .030 over bore high compression pistons leaving the only other options as Falcon Global (which uses Kanter), Kanter themselves or custom made forged pistons from Bulltear and others.
