SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM PUTTING A DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION IN MY JEEP. THE PROBLEM IS THE INPUT SHAFT TIP IS 1/2 INCH TOO SHORT. THIS MEANS IT WILL JUST TOUCH THE PILOT BUSHING BUT NOT ENTER IT. SINCE THE 401 CRANK HAS A STEPPED REAR OPENING COULD I HAVE SOMEONE MACHINE A BRONZE BUSHING THAT SPOTTED OFF THE LARGER OD, THE OD THAT NORMALLY CENTERS THE AUTOMATIC TORQUE CONVERTER?

REPLACING THE IMPUT SHAFT IS NOT AN OPTION.

Yes you could have a long bushing that sits in the original spot and has along hole. The outside would have a step for both diameters. This should work fine . ..what tranny are you using?

A CLARK 285SV. CAN YOU MAKE THE BUSHING?

THE INPUT SHAFT IS THE SAME DIAMETER AS A T-18. MEASURES OUT ABOUT .665

I would appreciate any help possible. Do you have a detailed drawing of the rear of a 401 crank? I might be able to find someone here to machine it if you can't. I would rather wait for someone with AMC experience and access to an AMC crank.

The Clark transmission might be a pipe dream but I am determine to make it work It is truly FU*KING massive next to a T-18, and it has a 7.6 to 1 first.
