WHAT ARE THE BEST CHOICES FOR A CLUTCH FOR A CJ 7 RUNNING A 401 FOR OFF ROAD ONLY? NOT A HIGH HP MOTOR, MOSTLY STOCK, MILD CAM AND INTAKE.

ALSO WHO MAKES A HYDRAULIC CONVERSION FOR THE CJ 7 V8?

The flywheel is drilled for both 10.5 and 11" clutches (or should be). I've had great luck using a factory Borg&Beck 11" 3 finger clutch. I toasted a 10.5 in about 16K miles, the 11" has run over 40K miles with no problems. The 11" clutch was a HD option in Wagoneers and Jeep trucks.

Personally, I'd keep the stock clutch. It's pretty difficult to fix a hydraulic on the trail. I upgraded the pedal linkage on mine to a ball/socket type, and it works much smoother. Repair parts from the pedal down to the throwout arm are available in the aftermarket. Check ebay for full kits.
