I currently have an 88 AMC 360 bone stock but with an edelbrock 750cfm carb, performer intake, headers, and dual exhaust.

I am thinking about installing this cam...

If I got this cam would I have to do anything to the heads? My stock heads are in good shape. I already have a brand new set of lifters uninstalled. It would be great if I could use the stock heads as I have no money to do anything to them at this time. I have 2.73 gears but those will be changed to 3.73's or 4.11's in the near future.

What do you guys think? How well would this cam match my setup?

IMO that 270H Comp cam is a nice piece for your combination. EXCEPT, I feel your carb is to big. A 600 / 650 would be plenty even after a gear change. That cam is going to run out of breath at 5500 rpm or before, no need for a 750 cfm carb.
Again IMO, be sensible with the rear gears. If this is a daily driver, 3.08 / 3.31 would be just fine.

I disagree that the Comp 270 magnum cam is suitable for a stock compression 360, but would agree you have a lot (if not too much) carb. The two together will likely result in lousy throttle response and poor bottom end torque. Comp recommends that cam for 1800-5800rpm, which is probably not the rpm range you run with your set up - and its' late intake closing point and big overlap will rob you of acheivable torque below 4000rpm.

You need to install new lifters with a new cam, no matter how "young" your current lifters are.

I am mistaken. Waggy is correct. I thought by '88 compression ratios were back up to 9.0 to 1. Checked the Motors Manual, it says 8.5 to 1. In that case, a Comp 268 would be a better cam choice for 'spirited driving' with your stock engine.
