oil pressure

hello, will putting in a new oil pump only help with pressure?
i have a 304 in my cj right now for a couple more weeks then the new 360 goes in. i got apump from auto zone was going to put it in sun. at idle its around 10 psi 35 psi when warm with rpms aroun 2700 rpms. now cold jumps right to 60psi idling.so what do you think.

Sounds to be about right... I was once told "The Golden rule" is 1 psi per 100 rpms at idle... (Warm). I honestly didn't like that so I rebuilt mine... milled/trued/stiffer spring/removed .001" from the plunger (Just to make sure it wouldn't stick... again!) new gears and a thinner gasket... At idle (800 rpms) warm I'm around 25-28psi... down the road I'm looking at 45 to 50psi... I'm also running 20w50 racing oil...
