Hey all,

Thanks for all the input on my distributor not fitting because the cover was out of alignment! Before I button everything back up, I have a question on the grooves on my vibration damper. Is this ok or do I need to do something?

Here is a link to the pics:

You probably need to do something if you want a good front seal.

You could try having a sleeve installed to save the damper you have, or get a new damper (American Parts Depot has new stock replacements for around $150.00).

Yeah Joe that first one goes pretty deep.

Can't really pony up for a new one - how about a repair kit?
Any recommendations on a product and/or tips on getting the sleeve on properly?

go to a bearing house and see if they can match up a speedy sleave

Napa has a Felpro kit, #16204 that I guess I will use - $10.
