I have a 75 401 original mated to an auto, now I'm hooking it up to a T18 tranny. I looked on the bulltear parts section and did not find a pilot bearing. Where can I get one? The opening at the back of the crank is about 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 in diameter.

Call centerforce clutches. They have a few different pilot bearings for amc applications.

Most of the time if you buy a "clutch kit", it includes a new pilot bushing and throwout bearing with the disk and cover.

I think I have a Wagoneer pilot bushing in my tool box, if that's what you need, PM me your address and it's yours. The CJ version has a smaller I.D.

I bought a Wagoneer HD clutch kit to get the 11" clutch, then bought the CJ pilot and throwout, since they're different. The CJ pilot for the t-18 is the same as the one for the 76-79 T-150.

Novak-adapters has everything you need when it comes to pilot bearings... If they don't have what you need tell them what motor and tranny you have and they'll make it or get it... And they're cheap for the most part.

Got one from dare I say it Advance Auto! Was a bit on the wide side so I took to a neighbor who has a lathe (spelling?) in his basement and he turned down a bit & it went in smooth as silk with some seize all.
