I need a different Torque Converter. I have a wranger with a howell injected 401, a 727, dana 300. I have 3.73 gears and 37 inch tires. Right now I am running some sort of high stall converter that the guy threw in when I bought the transmission. I like to play in the rocks but I hate this torque converter. Wouldn't I be better off with a stock Converter. If so what year and what vehicle should I tell the parts store to order.

Thanks

Yes you will be alot happier with a lower stall converter. Look to 81-91 Grand cherokee replacements. Try to buy reman'd not used if you can help it.

Jeeps4ever,

I think you meant to say 80-91 Grand Wagoneers.

Thanks guys. I got one coming.

Any ideas on where to get a 727 to 401 flex plate. The only one I can find is on EBay from Mad Dog? My old stall tc was the same bolt pattern as a th400.

I ended up finding one locally. Thanks. One more question. I have it installed but the starter sounds terrible. Would this thing need a different starter. It will start it but it can't be right. I from what I have seen you can't shim an AMC right?
