I've got a 79 Jeep CJ7 that had 304 V8. I switched to a 360. The fuel line from the pump to the carb comes out of the top of the old pump and the new pump I bought from Summit, Carter M6505, comes out of the bottom. Can these pumps be mounted upside down? If not will all AMC pumps work on all V8's or are the arms different. IF I decided to change to electric where can I get a pump block off?

With the Carter, you'll have to make a new fuel line. Easiest way is to buy a piece of pre-flared line at an auto parts store, bend to shape and cut to length. The Carter is a much better pump than OEM.

You CAN'T mount it upside down, it won't line up. The Carter arm is different from OEM, I believe it runs from the bottom of the pump eccentric. OEM runs from the top. All V-8 pumps are interchangeable.

If you decide to go electric, a Chevy block off will work.

Thanks. I think I will have the line bent. I did notice the arm was different and ran off the bottom of the lobe. I was thinking maybe I got the wrong pump.
