As for the D300, check out Stak's D300 replacement case

"Gonna throw a thought in here......Throughout history cable shifters have been a mantainence nightmare. While fine on compition rigs that see a lot of mantainence time, they have a bad habit of failing over time on daily drivers due to exposure to the elements(corrosion). From Sherman splitters to overdrives, cables have given way to mechanical, electric, and hydrolic linkages for this reason."

I really hate to have to go this route, but the transfer case ended up being WAAAAAY back and I don't want to hack up my floor. Even if I did the shift linkage would be in the middle of the seats.

mine was WAY back in one of my conversions i just twin sticked it and then made the two flate bar pieces that hole teh twin sticks longer and then made some long lower shift rail extensions

Otter (whaley ent) is no longer in the biz.

The replacement stak case has yet to be seen....

I like Dusty's idea to lengthen the brackets.

When did Whaley's go out of business? Or are you just saying he's out of the cable shifter business?

He got a sweet job that didn't require him to be in the shop for 80 hours a week. I'd guess it's been a good 6 months or so now.
