i have a rebuilt 360 in my jeep...when i first start it it runs 60 lbs of oil pressure but as soon as it gets warm it drops off....at 180-190 degrees it drops down to about 10lbs....the motor makes no noises and it quite as it can be.(except for the exhaust)....i need to try something to get that oil pressure up and i was gonna try a midplate...i noticed that they sell it with two diffrent gaskets which gasket should i use to get the most oil pressure possible. I dont like seeing the needle drop that low and ive yet to take it off road yet and i know when wheeling your not really high up in the rpm's....going down the road at 1800-2200 rpm's the pressure is between 30 and 40 lbs...and it goes right up with just a blip of the throttle....anyway some advice on what to do will be helpfull

Sorry Mike we only have one gasket. The .007 gasket material was discontinued. :(

well...does it sound like a midplate would help my problem??? when i replaced the oil pump there was some scaring on the oil pump housing but i didnt think it would be bad enough to affect the oil pressure???

FWIW, mine has about the same oil pressure. I don't worry until it stays at 0.

With valve lapping compound and a piece of glass, you can hand lap the oil filter adapter / oil pump cover plate to remove the swirls in it. It takes a while, but it works. Important thing is it must be flat. Not sure if that's causing the low oil pressure or not.
