This is my first Edelbrock carb. It's a 1407 (750 CFM) with an electric choke conversion.

Idle mixture is spot-on, runs great and is strong when I stomp the gas to WOT. It does have a slight hesitation just off idle when I accelerate slowly, like in traffic. I'd start with a bigger accel pump squirter or quicker cam on a Holley, but where to on an Edelbrock?

Jeez you beat me to the punch! I almost posted the same question only I have a 1806. I also have the slight hesitation of idle. Looked at the tuning chart supplied with the carb and I'm going to try switching metering rods.Currently it has Jet .095 with rod .068x.047 Thinking of going to a rod of .065x.037 or .063x.037.
Hope this will help it a bit.
