Gots a set of Harland-Sharp's sittin around and was wondering what all i would need to do to my bridged 304 heads to put these rockers on? I know some machine work is involved but what needs machined and how much needs machined and also need to tap out to 3/8? :-|

At this point you can use Ford small block rocker. The only difference between a AMC and a Ford rocker is the relief on the bottom of the rocker for the shoulder on the stock AMC stud 67-73. You should take up to .3 off the top of the bosses depending on your guideplates used (which you will need btw). Tapping for stud threads really depends on the stud you use...some are 3/8 or 7/8 and some are a whopping 1/2". If your not runing .650 lift ot above a simple 3/8 thread will do. The head should be mounted at least in a bridgeport for finding the cneter of the threaded hole. Is a machinist or yourself doing the headwork?

Im going to be taking them to a local machine/engine shop and having the machine work done to them and i do believe they are 3/8" studs............a previous owner had bought them and botched the attempt to install them and then sold jeep to me and i used a different set of heads and now i want to install them on these heads since i will be pulling the heads for valve seals and head gaskets.........................he has a Bridgeport machine and i hope he will set them up properly but all that needs removed is .3 ?

Click on the E-Store link at the top. They are listed on page 3. Don't forget the hardened pushrods to go with.

Buddy of mine.....builds Small Block Chevys for stock cars was sayin that ill want to get a pushrod length tool to check my push rods since it will throw the geometry off a bit...........this is startin to sound like i should left em alone.......................i just thought of something......these heads are 3212990-1 castings, should have had single rockers on them from the get go. :-| i dunno if he had the heads machined any or not....this is gettin confusing 111!!!
